ºÚÁÏÍø student–driven startups are advancing toward commercial viability, thanks to grants from the Entrepreneurs Fund Summer Accelerator through Thought Into Action (TIA).

One of the facets of ºÚÁÏÍø’s strategy to detect signs of SARS-CoV2 on campus is the broad use of wastewater testing to find any early indications of spreading coronavirus. The plan received national attention, with news outlets like CBS mentioning the effort as a stand out among many of the college reopening plans across the country. 

Following a successful five-year pilot study, ºÚÁÏÍø will launch First@ºÚÁÏÍø, a program to provide essential support and resources for undergraduates who will be the first in their families to attain a degree from a four-year institution of higher education.

Despite the last-minute switch to remote research, 160 students went forward with research projects this summer.

2U, Inc. (Nasdaq: TWOU), a global leader in education technology, today announced a partnership with ºÚÁÏÍø. In collaboration with the University’s Task Force on Remote Learning, Information Technology Services (ITS) and Center for Learning, Teaching and Research (CLTR), ºÚÁÏÍø will now have access to 2UOS Essential—2U’s bundle of course production and development, technology, and support services—to deliver a high-quality, hybrid learning experience for select courses.

With the beginning of the academic year, ºÚÁÏÍø welcomed new faculty to campus.

As an applied mathematics major, I wanted to work on a project that directly used mathematics and computer science to solve a problem.
